Can you imagine the insensitivity? I pleaded with them, explaining that this visit was significant for us as it was my stepdad's way of saying goodbye to a place he cherished deeply. But you won't believe what happened next – they flat out refused, despite the resort not being busy at all. My poor stepdad was exhausted, and I was willing to pay the extra fee for early check-in. Wanting to escape the unbearable heat, I went to the front desk to see if we could check into our room earlier than the designated 4 PM time.
He tried to enjoy the day, reminiscing about his time as a professional caddy for Herman Keizer, but the heat got the best of him, and we had to call it quits after just five holes.
